Wind Power Plant Rakova bara
WPP „Rakova bara“
About project
WPP „Rakova bara“ is designed to comprise out of 19 wind turbine generators, with a total installed capacity at the point of common coupling of 140MW, which will allow for a total annual power generation of 400GWh – which is sufficient to power up 45,000 households. This represents around 1.1% of the total electric energy consumption in Serbia, with zero emissions.
Connection to the transmission grid
In line with the Grid Connection Study, which was prepared by Serbian transmission system operator Elektromreža Srbije, connection of WPP Rakova bara to the transmission grid in Serbia shall be established through the following facilities:
1
medium voltage (35kV) and fiber optic underground cable grid, which wll connect all the wind turbine generators, investor of which will be VE Rakova bara;
2
Transformation 35/400kV VE Rakova bara, in which the generated power will be transformed from medium to high (400kV) voltage. This facility shall encompass energy battery storage, which will ensure uninterrupted delivery of the electric energy in the periods with no wind. Investor will be VE Rakova bara;
3
Switchyard 400kV „Kučevo“, of which investor will be Elektromreža Srbije, and investors will be VE Rakova bara and two companies, who develop their renewable energy projects in relative vicinity, will act as financiers;
4
overhead lines 400kV, in principle „in-out“, which will connect the Switchyard with the enarby existing 400kV overhead line Drmno – Djerdap 1. Investor will be Elektromreža Srbije, and VE Rakova bara, with two afore mentioned companies, will be financiers.
Wind farm will be interconnected by the mesh of internal unpaved roads, 20km of the total length, which will be connected with the public roads. These internal roads shall allow for the communication of the ordinary vehicles, which will allow the residents and tourists to roam in the area.
